What teachers can do:

  • Ask students about bullying. Survey students regularly.
  • Ask students about their relationships. Know your students well, who they get on with and who they don't get on with.
  • Build democratic classroom and school climates. Identify and grow student leaders who can make a stand against bullying.
  • Be an informed consumer of anti-bullying curricula. There is no silver bullet.
  • Remember that bullying is also a problem of values.
