I recently ran this workshop:
What’s an unconference? An unconference is a participant-driven event. Rather than inviting people to attend a conference where everything has been decided by others in advance (the speakers, the content, the timetable, the spaces etc.) an unconference emerges out of the strengths and interests of the people who attend. Holding your own internal unconference helps people to actively find solutions to the issues that matter, rather than sitting passively in something someone else has put together. Having an experienced facilitator come in and run a session like this helps move excellence around your organisation, helps raise the stakes for people reporting back PLG or teaching as inquiry findings but most of all it allows you to put on an amazing PLD event for your whole staff for a fraction of the cost of sending everyone to an external event.
