Consultant

After 16 years in the classroom, Bek now works full time as a consultant and an Accredited Ministry of Education PLD facilitator. She has supported a wide range of schools to help them in their journey towards more ̃learner centred spaces and all things “Innovative” in Teaching and Learning. While teaching, Bek also worked as a cluster facilitator with 10 schools, focused on thinking & inquiry
Areas of focus for Bek include collaborative teaching & learning spaces; learner agency; deep, real, connected learning; personalised learning; active learning culture;  and learning through an inquiry approach.

Awards:

• Haben’s Prize for Excellence in Education, University of Canterbury
• NEITA Regional Excellence in Teaching Award
• Certified Coach and Accredited Teacher of Critical and Creative Thinking Skills (National Centre for Teaching Thinking USA).
